Lightning Network
Lightning Network is a protocol that is an extension of Bitcoin, and is a mechanism designed to solve the problem of only being able to make 7 payments per second (scaling problem). Currently, there are projects underway around the world to implement this mechanism, and Spotlight is also utilizing this new technology.
The mechanism is similar to the Suica money charging system, where bitcoins are transferred in advance to a special bitcoin address. Once charged, the address can be used semi-permanently to send money to anyone participating in the Lightning Network. The transfer fee is less than one yen, and the settlement time is only a few seconds. Once this system is complete, it will be able to surpass Visa and MasterCard payment processing.
